Life with an iPhone in my pocket…

When I came back to Pittsburgh this time, my default choice for buying a phone was Virgin Mobile. It’s the cheapest in terms of instrument cost ($19) and also has a pretty economical monthly prepaid plan. But, my pocket has always wanted to have an iPhone (Not my wallet though… 🙂 ). Living at Carriage Park and travelling by 38C to office just kept adding too much peer pressure and increased my temptation to buy an iPhone… Any direction you turn in the bus, there is someone holding an iPhone and listening to music, podcast, checking emails, blogging, chatting, etc.. etc.. etc..  After a lot of contemplation, seemingly complex monthly budgeting and every possible consideration, I ended up with the same question – Do I really need an iPhone?? My wife just gave me that extra push I needed to buy it… she said… “Just go for it… stop thinking so much…” Guess what?? Having got the approval from the finance/home minister, I did not wait long… We just drove to a AT&T store and bought (well I should say inducted) iPhone into our lives the very same evening…

There are some important events my life (like everyone has a few) that changed my life in someway or the other from that point forward… Like – graduating from school to college life, first employment, getting married, becoming a father… Soon after I started using the iPhone I realized that am opening another chapter in my life – Life with an iPhone in my pocket… One notable thing that it has done is, that it has helped me reach out to so many of my friends… Friends who really really mean to me… (Well don’t ask me if they meant so much why did I not reach out earlier… I don’t have an answer for that… :-().

There is an app for facebook among the zillion apps that iPhone has… Every day when I come back home, there are two things that my wife asks me these days – “So who did you find on facebook today?” and “What are the apps that you downloaded??”

It has been like almost a year since I have created an account in facebook… I think till recently I only had my mom and my wife in my friend’s list… Yes! That’s how bad I have been… I use to get reminded of so many friends while am not in front of my personal computer… I tell myself, “May be I will spend sometime tonight or over the weekend to search of him/her on the facebook or orkut…” But nothing happens… Ever since I have got my iPhone, my friends list is just growing everyday… No matter where am reminded of someone, I just pick up my iPhone and search for my friend… If I feel like leaving a note or just responding to a note, I just do that right away…

Well if I start talking about my iPhone, I can just keep going on and on and on…  🙂

About goks

My friends call me Goks and I like being called that way. :-) I am a Piscean by my sun sign and I perfectly fit the description that is available in any public domain. I am just saying that so that I dont have to write too much here. I am married and have a beautiful family... The fact that am married will reflect on my blogs hence no politically incorrect comments or posts from me... ;-) I started blogging in Sep 2009 after being inspired by a friend of mine (Actually my mentor on a lot of aspects of life) I discovered that it is a great way to express myself... Here is where I write - Am also an amateur photographer learning everyday. I have always felt that capturing something picture worthy on a camera is a very rewarding experience. Sharing it with others and seeing them enjoy that picture is even more rewarding. I take pics of just about anything hence no specialities. I specifically like shooting nature, animals, landscapes, etc. So if you are bored with what I have written, pls visit my photography blog...
